All beaches of Ibiza Island

The Mediterranean BEACHES of Ibiza island are known for their great diversity on top of annual awards in the form of a Blue Flag, allocated by a global organization that handles strict global criteria regarding the quality of the water, safety, environmental education & information, available facilities & services and management of the environmental criteria of the area.
The Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label of the independent Danish non-profit organization; Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), which devotes itself towards sustainable development at beaches and marinas, based on a number of strict criteria, such as monitoring of water quality, environmental education & information, environmental management, safety and the number of complimentary services.

This means, among other things, that from May 1st to October 31st, it is prohibited to enter the beaches with all motorized vehicles on all blue flag beaches of Ibiza, between 11:00 am and 06:00 pm.

The Ministry of HealtH carries out a multitude of tasks on all beaches of Sant Joan, such as:
• Checking the water quality
• Periodic inspection and analysis of microbiological- or oil pollution & waste in the seawater
• Cleaning beaches, removing paper and making sure that the beach STAYS clean
• The sand of the long sandy beaches gets thoroughly sifted through multiple times a year.

• Defined swimming area with lifeguard
• Information, environmental education and defining prohibitions.
• All public AREAS are shared, but privately owned.
• All companies must be connected to the sewers.
• Service monitoring of the beaches from May 1st to the end of October between 11:00 am - 06:00pm
• Quick medical service and ambulances.

The island of Ibiza has over 240 km of coastline with dozens of small bays and inlets, peninsulas, rocky coves and sandy beaches. Many of these beaches have beautiful white sand and palm trees, but there are also beaches with small, or larger, pebble stones, or just rocks.

The crystal clear water and pleasant temperatures (even in winter), are great for practicing various water sports, from swimming and diving to wakeboarding, surfing and sailing.

URBAN BEACHES, provided with clean, new sand each year, are found in Ibiza town, San José, San Antonio, San Juan and Santa Eulalia.
The fashionable beaches near Ibiza-town are often visited by the international jetset, VIPs and celebrities, and people usually go here to see or be seen by others.

There are also great quiet beaches, that can only be accessed by boat, or after demanding hikes, which isn’t for everyone because of the hot summers.

The beaches of Ibiza offer something for everyone, as do all other amazing area’s of the island.
Whether you are looking for worldly entertainment in the island’s notorious nightlife or just want to enjoy the beauty its nature has to offer ..... on IBIZA you find it all !!
